Magnetemple

Beyond creaking door

A dark room quivers

And musky undertones

Spur weary eyes to blink out the dust

Come all:

The priests

The deities

The noble

The haggard

Bastards and kings

Queens and witches

All are instantly neutralised

For in the Magnetemple

There is no need for the tedium of title

Arms open to the darkness of love

Inside the catacomb

Enveloped in nomadic web

A scripture cites universal magnetism

Unavoidable orbits

That with a binary belch

Lurch from one dimension to the next

With every thought and every action

Dimensions birth and burst

Magnetism knows nothing of choice

Just that it is the custodian

Of a path that can never be explained

Only experienced

Made not of stone

Nor didactic tome

This path deciphered only in pulmonary pulse

One

Beat

At

A

Time

Walk with misguided intention

Or ventricular ventriloquism

Designed to puppeteer proceedings

And magnetism’s motion will flummox and disorientate

All actions and decisions that lead to the sacred temple door

Will be instantly forgotten

Arms open to the love of darkness

Splay forth in courageous stance

Let go

And be carried by the insistence

Of universal sway

Universal pray

Not prey

Every thought writes a psalm

Every palm shook with crooked finger

Each hug given through obligation

Or lack of authenticity

Writes the scripture

And so you shall receive

Darkened temples stir migraines

Yet immersion in the quivering gloom

And trust in the crazy whirling of magnetism

Will unload the weight of everything unacknowledged

Finally the head breaks open

And the pulse can dance at last

In a sumptuous marriage

That honours its own beat

About Me

I'm Dave. A writer, artist, musician, builder and baker. When I'm not adventure travel writing and asking for shit cake in Peru (caca and coca are easily mixed up), I can be found pondering how to make stuff in the shape of a icosahedron. Ideas on a twenty-sided postcard please...
